April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month with World Parkinson’s Day recognised on 11 April each year
Today in Australia, 37 people will hear the words ‘you have Parkinson’s’ for the very first time. That’s more than one person every hour, of every day.

PITCH IN AND FUNDRAISE
Pitch In for Parkinson’s this April by holding a fundraising event at home, work or in your community.
During Parkinson’s Awareness Month in 2019 people all over NSW Pitched In with all sorts of creative and fun ways. From BBQ’s, trivia competitions, a picnic in the park, head shaving, busking, craft stall, morning tea, a cocktail party, raffles, ugly tie competition, footy match and many donation tins placed on counters are retails outlets.
In 2019 Parkinson’s NSW Support Groups undertook 33 activities to build awareness and raise funds in April, Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
Everyone is invited to come along, say hello to your Parkinson’s community, get involved, ask questions, take away information and Pitch in for Parkinson’s in your local area.
